well these girls did me a great job this week .i had a suit made in nottingham and the trousers didnt fit .made me look like a clown .untill i asked stitch express if thay couls do anything with them ,and thay did a fantastic job with them thank you lots girls x

Having been born & bred in Yorkshire I don't need telling I don't understand Yorkshire folk, as per another reviewer. But I do recognise rude folk when I come across them and it seems nothing has changed some the other two reviewers who've reported the attitude two years ago.
I couldn't get to my normal lady and despite having been warned that everything costs a mimimum of £15 and of the typical 'welcome' received thought I would give them a go.
Took my item in, asked for price, £15, it wasn't worth doing as the item cost a lot less. I was polite and said I thought I'd leave it at which point the other half of the gruesome twosome turned around and a joint attack took place on my request )I'd already said I'd leave it). Madam 1 then walked off saying ' it won't take two minutes you know' this surprised me as they had already said they couldn't do it, I replied ' I didn't say it would' and she said ' I never said you did, but it won't take two minutes'.
What is it with these women?
Happy to lose future business because their regular customers are happy to pay a minimum of £15 for everything so don't need new ones maybe.
I'll ensure no-one I know risks experiencing this in the future.

Please ignore the two poor reviews made on this site. They were obviously made by people who don't understand Yorkshire folk! The ladies in this shop are down to earth and straight talking, funny and excellent at what they do. I have just had my wedding dress altered (whole train taken off) and it has been done professionally and confidently; the lady has done a superb job. A fantastic service by lovely ladies who tell it as it is. I now have the dress of my dreams for my special day - THANK YOU!!

My last few experiences at this shop have been really good. The staff have always been very helpful and polite. Very accommodating when you just have a small job which needs completing quickly. I like it here!

Have used the ladies here for years now, they always do a perfect job and within the time promised. They impart friendly advice and can usually squeeze in a rush job if it's important. They are great characters within the community, chatting to all their clients whether it's a big job or just a little tweak.
I have recommended them to friends who have also been happy with their work.

The staff are abrupt and rude. They laugh amongst themselves at the sarcastic and unintelligent quips they make at the customers' expense. I shall not go there again. Almost everything I said to them quite politely was made into some sort of issue.
Attitude problem barely begins to sum it up. They seem to enjoy having you rise to the bait as though having turned a polite customer into someone half as rude and abrupt as they are is some sort of life accomplishment.
In short- avoid and go elsewhere.

Unless this is your last resort, I advise to anyone to avoid Stitch Express in Halifax at all cost. Do not go there, unless you like to be spoken to in an extremely rude manner. I am not one of those unfriendly people. I am known for having a friendly, open and understanding personality. However, the Stitch Express Team prefer to be short with a new smily customer. When I explained that my dress needed to be altered, they cut me off by saying "we can´t do it". No further explanation. When I asked why, the lady turned around to her colleague moaning "please explain it to her". As if I was retarded. Her colleague wasn´t more helping either and gave a very brief but just as rude explanation to why they could not alter the dress. I wished them an nice day and left very frustrated. It is not the fact that they turned me away that was so frustrating. I´d rather be told that they feel they don´t have the necessary skills to alter the dress, instead of them possibly ruining it. But the frustration resulted in the way they treat potential new customers. I it had been said in a kind way, or maybe with a smile, I surely would have understood.
Regarding their skills, there is nothing I can say about that, because I wasn´t given the chance to become a customer. And after this negative experience, I don´t think I ever will.
